Back when we were dating and then newly married, Javier and I liked to camp. In the traditional style, we had a tent. Sometimes, it was so windy where we camped, we couldn't sleep all night. We honestly thought we'd blow away every night. And then there was the heat. We rigged up some handy little battery-powered fans, but they didn't do much. We usually just stayed outside during the day, which was okay until it got really windy. Lastly, there was the fact that we would have to pack up everything every night before going to bed back into our car or truck. We couldn't leave anything around the campsite for fear of bears.
Still, we loved it. It was our yearly getaway. Sometimes we were just two, other times we brought Lizzie along. She worked great as a mini-furnace that year we went camping in May! Occasionally we checked into a hotel midway through our adventure just to get a little bit of decent sleep. Between the wind, heat & insufficient air mattress, we got a bit overtired at times.
Then we made the 'mistake' of staying in our in-laws trailer one night. And we've never gone back to tenting. Call me spoiled, call me a princess. But if I go camping now, I need to camp in style. A little air conditioning, running water, and gas stove never hurt anyone I say. Plus, I can always hide out from the wind.
Javier and his dad went shopping yesterday. I'd love to say this is what they came back with.

Can you just imagine pulling into a campsite with this baby? Okay, maybe not all of you are campers and really can't imagine, but just check out what's inside.

This is not your typical trailer. Check out the flat screen plasma tv against the back wall.

I could definitely wake up happy with all these windows surrounding. My own bedside table!

This little couch is just begging for me to sit down and read a book. I'd have to get busy maing some cute little pillows to spread around.

How cute and cozy is this?
Javier said he campaigned heavily for this model, but I think the new trailer will be more of a contemporary nature, not these vintage-style gems. Oh well, I'll still sleep in style and I can still make some funky little pillows.

However, I am officially adding this little beauty to my fantasy wish list. A sweet collaboration between
Airstream and
DWR.
