The party of the year

For starters, Miss Lizzie's birthday is definitely THE party of the year, meaning it's the only party we ever have around here. I've been tempted to throw myself a party for the past few years just to mix everything up a bit.

This year's party wasn't quite the extravaganza that it was last year, but I think that as far as birthdays go it was still pretty fun. Of course, who wouldn't be thrilled with have 5 of your best little girlfriends over to celebrate YOU?

The highlight of the evening was the airbrush toenail painting. Aren't these sweet little toes? We have everything from zebra stripes to dragon flies to paw prints to palm trees.

Here's a close up of Lizzie's sunset themed toes. We are all longing for a definitive end to winter (the weather last few days has been pretty wonderful!)

Lizzie chose a rainbow cake, after we found this one online.

We started with these. Three boxes of cake mix and 7 different colours of gel food colouring. Thank goodness I have a bajillion Pyrex bowls to hold it all.

Which became these...

And thoroughly enjoyed this!

Other highlights of the evening included an impromptu game of Charades, hide and seek, a sleepover, and Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

I love watching Lizzie with her friends. Judging by the big smile on her face all evening and this morning, she definitely enjoyed her day.

It looks like so much fun! Perfect girly stuff!

My chihuahua girls were unimpressed with the BHC movie! I thought it was cute!

Sounds like a wonderful party. We were partying here this weekend too and I'm exhausted. How about you?

I am loving the rainbow cake idea. Now, don't tell me that you're the one who did the toenail art too?

Mega colourful celebration! I have always wanted to try that rainbow cake... what kind of food colouring did you use? The Wilton stuff or the plain 'ol grocery store drops?

Happy Birthday to Miss Lizzie!
