Spokane Art

During our holidays, we decided to spend one night in Spokane. We've been there once before, but I forgot how lovely it is. We were walking around looking for a restaurant with a nice patio & we discovered this art display. The artist was still working on it. I desperately wanted to take a picture but our stomachs demanded food. All through lunch I thought about this installation and had to drag Lizzie & Javier back to the gallery. The artist was outside and granted me permission to photograph his work.

This photo doesn't do the display justice. The entire design is construction from 'found' objects like strawberry baskets, bottle caps, bread ties, pens, prescription bottles, straws, you name it. I can't imagine ever being THIS creative. It was completely stunning.

Here's a close of of part of the installation. Silly me, I forgot to find out the name of the gallery or the artist. That's how overwhelmed I was. All I can say is that he was immensely talented.

Oh, I bet that was just gorgeous in person. I'm not a big fan of installation, but that piece is very cool and I really dig symmetry! Thanks for posting!

I haven't been to Spokane in a couple years, but I agree.... it can be very pretty in the summer.

it looks like a ferris wheel! ... on second thought, a mandala ... no, definitely a ferris wheel all lit up!

I just looked at the big version and realized that is one seriously patient human being! Quite impressive.
