Last minute mama

I always come up with wonderful ideas. Unfortunately, I frequently don't have them until the day before they are due! Case in point--Lizzie had her skating achievement day yesterday. In addition to a solo, she skated in two group skates. She wore one of her regular little skating dresses for the solo. The first group skate was to the song "We Go Together" from Grease. I decided on SATURDAY that it would be a great idea to make Lizzie a poodle skirt for her costume. I stayed up late sewing and got it done.

Of course, she looked great, as you can see from above.

The costume for her second skate was easier. Just an "old-fashioned" type dress for Chim Chimmeny from Mary Poppins. We just went to Value Village and found a dress that fit for $5.00. It is an April Cornell dress and quite pretty, so she'll wear it during the spring and summer. Not bad for 5 bucks!

I constantly keep doing these things to myself. Because I spent so much time sewing on Saturday, I had to stay up last night finishing a school assignment today.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this?

Yeah - not even close with being the only person to have brilliant ideas last minute. The important thing is to have brilliant ideas.

I truly hope that I don't follow in your footsteps. Altho the skirt is darling, I have 2 daughters to do this 'last minute stuff' on behalf of and the strain will push me off my rocker! Great outfit though!

You are not the only one who does this! I've stayed up late baking cupcakes knowing I had days to buy the ingredients and running out the last minute for eggs...and I always swear never again. But, hey, as long as it all gets done, in the long run, it's OK!

From another last minute swapper: I want to stay anonymous for just a couple more days. I'm your sassy apron partner. The apron was finished this weekend and pictures taken; I just have to package it and send it. I will comment again as soon as I send it off and tell you who I am.
