I hate to brag or anything, but I rarely get bored. There is always something to be done. I haven't been bored in years in fact. Not so with my 10-year-old. Her best girlfriends are away & boredom threatens to overtake her if we are not diligent. So I've been trying to create things for us to do. A few weeks ago we visited a friend's
art studio & gallery. We were inspired to make collage art. Not quite was she was exhibiting, but the project kept us busy for a few hours this week. I sacrificed some of my Martha Stewart and other magazines to the cause. We used small canvases, painted them with acrylic pains, and Modge Podge to stick everything together and make the surface shiny.
Lizzie was inspired by her love of animals. Horses & kitties are her favourites. Dogs too.
My collage contains some of my favourite things in the world. A good cup of coffee, a decent book, NURSING(!), pretty flowers, and patterns combining blues & greens. I was a big too eager to stick on my photos and I have lots of air pockets. However, I'm choosing to call it texture.
In an effort to help my 36-year-old husband combat his boredom, I assisted him with making Rain look like Donald Trump. Doesn't she look pleased?

Funny how that is, I was just thinking today... how it is that I am never "bored" and that I am lucky indeed, Buddy and Loopy never seem to complain of bordom. Coincidence? I think so!
The collages are great - you can get all fancy-like and call them "mixed media altered art" if you like.
I have never laughed so hard at a picture of a cat. So funny.
I'm never bored either, but I cant seem to get my husband to turn that darn tv off! :)

Your collage is great! I used to make those for my room in high school. I was never bored either. If I dared to say I was...I was given an instant chore. See, bored no more!

I think your and Lizzie's collages are FAB! Sadie and I have been working on Soul Journals together and it's been tons of fun. :)
